It is composed of 13 elements in eight groups, including two aspherical elements and an extra-low dispersion element, as well as a fluorine coating at the front element of the lens. Moreover, it allows a minimum focusing distance of 50cm from the sensor surface. This lens weighs about 445 grams.

Apart from adding weather-resistance property, compared with its predecessor FUJINON XF56mmF1.2 R, Fujifilm has reduced the MOD from 70cm to 50cm and increased number of elements from 11 to 13. Moreover, this lens has an increased number of diaphragm blades from seven to 11, creating an almost perfect circle on the aperture diaphragm, which results in beautiful bokeh effect. Despite being a fast prime lens, it only weighs about 445 grams. This lens provides an enhanced resolving capability, creating better image quality and making it perfect for portrait photography and beyond.
